MAINE WOODS YARN & FIBER

FAQ's

What is the difference in using wool yarns versus acrylic yarns? TOP
First of all, wool is a natural fiber that comes from animals to keep them warm. The fibers are hollow and trap air in them which insulates their bodies from the cold and will do the same in garments or afghans made from real wool. Acrylic yarn does not have this property and is not nearly as warm. Also, acrylic yarns are made from petroleum products. Go green, use real wool!
